Lifeguard Instructor – Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

About the role

The Lifeguard Instructor leads and supervises lifeguard training sessions at Half Moon Cay, ensuring participant safety and high‑quality instruction. You will manage instructional materials, maintain aquatic facilities, and support the lifeguard team in a resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead lifeguard certification and recertification courses, develop lesson plans, and manage instructional timelines.
• Provide hands‑on coaching, evaluate participant performance, and deliver constructive feedback.
• Maintain clean, safe aquatic facilities, classrooms, and training equipment; secure testing materials.
• Monitor activities to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and uphold safety standards.
• Assist the Lifeguard Manager with scheduling, onboarding, and special projects.
• Identify and recommend improvements to training processes, staffing, and policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; additional hospitality education is a plus.
• Internationally recognized lifeguard certification; Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
• 1‑2 years experience in a water‑safety environment within a hotel or resort.

Required skills

• Guest‑facing and customer‑service experience.
• Proficiency with computer business applications, including basic accounting and payroll systems.
• Ability to teach and lead large groups.
• Strong lifeguard skills and emergency‑response capability.
