Operations Senior Analyst – Bahamas Country Office

About the role

The Inter‑American Development Bank (IDB) seeks an Operations Senior Analyst to support the design, execution, monitoring and closure of IDB‑G operations in the Bahamas. The role works closely with sector and fiduciary specialists to ensure projects align with IDB strategy and country development priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support loan and technical cooperation operations, ensuring alignment with the Country Strategy and IDB policies.
• Draft project profiles, operational plans and coordinate start‑up workshops for technical cooperation initiatives.
• Apply predictive monitoring techniques to track activities, identify risks and alert senior staff.
• Prepare and review Project Monitoring Reports and Project Completion Reports, ensuring compliance with Bank requirements.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational support to executing agencies, facilitate workshops, and act as liaison between IDB, agencies and the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 1 year (preferably 3 years) of project management experience, preferably in public‑sector projects financed by multilateral institutions.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or French is a plus.
• Citizenship of The Bahamas or legal authorization to work in The Bahamas without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Project management certification (e.g., PMI) or equivalent.
• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience using IDB operational tools and understanding of procurement regulations.
• Ability to prepare and review technical and financial project documentation.
