Phlebotomist – Full-Time Position in Nassau

About the role

A Phlebotomist is responsible for providing efficient and friendly customer service while collecting blood samples and must be knowledgeable in basic laboratory and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions.
• Collect blood samples via venipuncture.
• Verify patient identity and label vials with patient names and dates.
• Determine the best method for drawing blood for each patient.
• Process and handle all samples following safety and infection‑control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized phlebotomy station.
• Perform CLIA‑waived tests and assist with ECG analysis when required.

Required profile

• Current valid phlebotomy certification (e.g., AMT or ASCP).
• Ability to draw blood with minimal complications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and walk two flights of stairs.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy certification (AMT, ASCP).
• Data entry and computer proficiency.
• Performance of CLIA‑waived laboratory tests.
