Radiologist - Breast Imaging

About the role

DHB Medical Staff is looking for an experienced radiologist specializing in breast imaging. The role is based in-house, working 40 hours per week as assigned by the Director, with paid on-call shifts including weekends and holidays. The main area of work is breast imaging, covering 3D mammography, ultrasound and biopsy procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging procedures (3D mammogram, handheld and 3D ABUS ultrasound, USG breast biopsy, needle localization, vacuum-assisted biopsy, breast MRI, USG-guided aspiration) and report diagnostic studies in a timely manner.
• Aim for a minimum of 400 reads per month, except during equipment downtime, vacation or sick leave.
• Document critical results on Expanse and tag studies in Novarad, including teaching cases and utilization review.
• Guide imaging technologists, discuss cases with referring physicians and perform image-guided interventions within training and certification limits.
• Peer review 10 or more cases per month and attend monthly peer review meetings.
• Provide image guidance for procedures to other physicians, take part in quality improvement and interdisciplinary patient care meetings, and give education sessions to technologists at least three times a year.
• Work 40 hours per week in-house and take paid on-call shifts as scheduled.

Required profile

• Graduate of a three-year radiology technology program.
• ARRT registered or registry eligible.
• At least two years of clinical experience.
• Specialized training or interest in breast imaging.
• Currently registered with the Bahamas Medical Council.
• Regular employee.
