Public Health Technician – Celebration Key, Bahamas

About the role

The Public Health Technician supports the HESS organization at Celebration Key, ensuring safe water, food, and environmental conditions for guests and staff. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with public health standards and emergency preparedness across port operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform water quality sampling (potable, recreational, ice) and maintain accurate records.
• Support food safety inspections and coordinate ice sampling.
• Participate in public health audits and maintain inventory of supplies and PPE.
• Assist technical and maintenance teams with water system cleaning, disinfection, hyperchlorination, and back‑flow testing.
• Provide guidance on public health non‑compliances and conduct housekeeping inspections.
• Take part in cross‑functional emergency drills, maintain emergency supplies, and support response protocols.
• Maintain accurate data, collaborate with vendors, and complete tasks in maintenance software.
