Safety Supervisor – Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

About the role

The Safety Supervisor is a key member of the HESS organization at a Carnival Corporation‑owned destination in the Bahamas. Reporting to the HESS Manager, the role oversees all occupational health and safety activities at Half Moon Cay, ensuring regulatory compliance through hands‑on program implementation and daily oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections, issue reports and drive corrective actions.
• Verify and close out Permit‑to‑Work permits for high‑risk tasks such as hot work, confined space entry, work at height and lock‑out/tag‑out.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and monitor the condition of emergency equipment (AEDs, oxygen cylinders, first‑aid kits, alarms).
• Assist the HESS Manager in developing and maintaining occupational health and safety programs and Management‑of‑Change reviews.
• Lead a frontline safety team: assign tasks, monitor performance and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Oversee contractor HSE compliance, including pre‑qualification, onboarding, supervision and performance monitoring.
• Manage new‑hire safety onboarding, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Maintain chemical safety compliance through SDS management, container labeling and spill‑response readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising safety personnel in an operational environment.
• Ability to conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and incident‑prevention planning.
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Experience supporting Management‑of‑Change and contractor HSE compliance processes.
• Strong attention to detail for safety documentation and KPI tracking.
