Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

About the role

The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician will be based at Beaver Street Fisheries' processing plant in Nassau, Bahamas. This role involves maintaining, operating, inspecting, and repairing industrial ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ammonia refrigeration equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Inspect and test system components, read gauges, adjust controls, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical failures.
• Work with contractors, electricians, and pipefitters to ensure compliance with safety policies and standards.
• Respond to after‑hours emergencies to protect safety, product quality, and sales.

Required profile

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration maintenance and repair.
• Trade school or Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
• Ability to weld, solder, and work with manual and electrical tools.
• Willingness to relocate to Nassau and commit to a minimum one‑year assignment.

• Welding (AWS Certified Welder or equivalent)
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)
• RETA CIRO or CARO certification (or equivalent IIAR credentials)
• OSHA 10‑Hour or 30‑Hour General Industry card (preferred)
