Hotel Shift Manager

About the role

The hotel in Nassau is looking for a Shift Manager to run the hotel during their shift. The role covers welcoming guests, managing the shift, liaising with departments and ensuring service standards and safety are met.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and bid farewell to visitors and guests warmly and professionally, introducing yourself to residential guests and event hosts on arrival.
• Assist all departments during busy periods and act as the point of contact for guests, passing on their needs to staff.
• Manage the hotel in the absence of senior management and coordinate guests and staff during emergencies, with knowledge of fire procedures.
• Ensure service standards are met, deal with complaints quickly and efficiently, and follow company policy and vision.
• Liaise with Reception and Housekeeping on arrival rooms and prioritisation, and obtain guest feedback to share with the Department Manager and HODs.
• Hold evening roll call and brief training with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Engineering.
• Help guests with room safes and door locks, and complete property inspections with security, checking that lights work and that laundry machines are off.
• Report appliance and fixture faults to Maintenance or the Assistant General Manager and keep areas clean and safe.
• Complete a daily end-of-shift report covering guest requirements, complaints and interactions, and hand over to the next shift.
