Manager, FATCA/CRS Information Reporting

About the role

EY's Financial Services Office (FSO) Business Tax Advisory practice has a dedicated team for tax information reporting, withholding and related advisory solutions. As Manager, you will lead client engagements on FATCA, CRS, IRS withholding and information reporting, oversee the quality of the work, manage engagement teams and priorities, and work with colleagues across jurisdictions. The opportunity sits within the BBC, covering the Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AEOI engagements, including advisory, compliance, reporting and transformation projects for financial institution clients.
• Interpret and apply FATCA, CRS, Form 1042, 1042-S and 1099 requirements, and give technical guidance to teams and clients.
• Oversee the preparation and review of client deliverables, analyses, technical memoranda and supporting documentation.
• Manage engagement scope, workplans, budgets, timelines and priorities, and report progress, risks and open items to clients and leadership.
• Improve documentation, controls and data workflows supporting accurate AEOI compliance and reporting.
• Monitor regional policy and legislative developments on AEOI and IRS reporting and withholding, and advise clients on responses to tax authority enquiries or inspections.
• Lead and coach team members across jurisdictions, and support business development, proposals and technical alerts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, Law, Economics, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in tax information reporting, withholding, regulatory compliance or a similar role, with substantial exposure to FATCA, CRS, 1099 and/or 1042 reporting.
• Experience with Economic Substance regulations is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of FATCA, CRS and IRS withholding and reporting requirements, including Forms W-9 and the W-8 series.
• Writing skills, including technical memoranda, client communications and proposals.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
