Technician, Environment & Sustainability (Bahamas)

About the role

This position supports the Manager, HESS and the Supervisor, Environmental and Sustainability in implementing and maintaining environmental programs at a Carnival Corporation-owned and operated global destination in the Bahamas. The role ensures operational compliance, helps with inspections and audits, supports emergency preparedness and promotes a prevention culture across port operations.

Key responsibilities

• Environmental support: collect data on waste segregation and recycling, monitor emissions data and support lab coordination, perform wastewater sample analysis and take part in external laboratory sampling
• Inspect workplaces and guest areas for environmental risks, take part in pest control monitoring and reporting, and help track sustainability metrics and run awareness campaigns
• Assist in collecting water and energy consumption data
• Emergency preparedness: take part in cross-functional drills and training, keep emergency supplies and documentation ready, and support emergency response protocols
• Maintain accurate records, support data analysis, work with external vendors and contractors, and complete tasks on time in the maintenance software
• Follow corporate policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and audit procedures

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in environmental, public health or safety preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in HESS-related roles or operational support functions
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and EPA standards is a plus
• Physically fit, able to work outdoors and stand for long periods; shift work may be required
