Underwater Target Electronics Technician III

About the role

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is recruiting an Underwater Target Electronics Technician III to support its government customer at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC provides tracking sensor data and test support for naval warfare centers, the fleet and other customers, covering deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed testing, repairs, modifications, preventative maintenance and final testing of electrical equipment for the Underwater Target department.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions by disassembling components and tracing circuit continuity.
• Repair circuit wiring and replace faulty components.
• Install tracking systems according to NAVSEA specifications and guidelines.
• Prepare and issue EMATTs.
• Perform authorized modifications, preventative maintenance and final testing under supervision.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Five years of electronics technology experience.
• AS/AA in Electronics or equivalent military training.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Able to live in a remote location with limited medical facilities, climb long flights of stairs and ladders at sea, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and passport required.

Required skills

• Digital analog troubleshooting.
• Analytical skills for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers.
• MK-30 Target Theory of Operations and Crane Operator Overhead Cat 3 certifications preferred.
