Boat Captain (Tender) – Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

About the role

The Boat Captain (Tender) is responsible for safely transporting passengers and cargo between the ship and Half Moon Cay, ensuring all operations meet maritime safety standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain tenders for daily operation, including engine, generator, and safety equipment checks.
• Conduct pre‑checks of vessels (oil, coolant, belts, bilges, decks, consoles) and ensure cleanliness and proper rigging.
• Perform safety, anchor, man‑overboard and fire drills; manage emergency response and incident reporting.
• Supervise crew, coordinate with shore security and ship staff, and maintain clear communication throughout embarkation and disembarkation.
• Record detailed daily logs, maintain documentation of maintenance, safety checks, and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Professional appearance and display of current licenses on the bridge.
