Diver III

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Diver III to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. The role involves performing limited no‑decompression dives using open‑circuit SCUBA to recover, inspect, repair, install, and remove equipment on U.S. Navy vessels and structures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain diving air systems in accordance with OSHA Diving Air Standards.
• Operate and maintain all diving equipment (tanks, regulators, mask, fins, etc.) required for dive operations.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane, and tractor‑trailer equipment per NAVFAC/NAVSEA standards.
• Operate and maintain underwater camera and video systems.
• Operate the dive boat and associated support equipment.
• Perform ordnance/target handling, transport, and recovery operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in military diving, OSHA commercial air diving, or a related professional environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Association of Diving Contractors International (ADACI) certification or equivalent military certification.
• Ability to obtain NAVFAC forklift and overhead crane certifications and NAVSEA tractor‑trailer certification within six months of hire.
• Ability to qualify as an Ordnance Team Member within six months of hire.
• Willingness to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance.
