Experienced State & Local Tax Staff – Financial Services (Bahamas)

About the role

EY is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its Financial Services (FSO) tax team in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. The role focuses on state and local tax (SALT) matters for clients in the wealth and asset‑management space, including hedge funds, private equity funds and mutual funds.

Key responsibilities

• Assist managers and partners on SALT compliance and advisory engagements for a portfolio of financial‑services clients.
• Prepare and review state and local tax returns, filings and related documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of tax strategies that align with clients’ business objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across EY to deliver integrated tax solutions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of SALT regulations and industry trends.

Required profile

• Professional experience in state and local tax, preferably within the financial‑services sector.
• Demonstrated ability to work on complex tax compliance and advisory projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
