Lounge Technician – Audio/Visual

About the role

The Lounge Technician ensures safe operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all audio, video and lighting equipment for the Royal Beach Club’s entertainment areas. Working closely with the Entertainment Manager, the role supports events such as movie nights, karaoke, parties and guest performances while delivering a high-quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and program background music, microphones, screens and speakers for seamless entertainment.
• Inspect, repair, troubleshoot and maintain audio, video and lighting systems, including streaming music and cable TV.
• Conduct daily audio level checks, label equipment racks and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Collaborate with electricians, performers and event planners to guarantee safe and effective event execution.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and determine when equipment requires replacement or repair.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical theater or A/V certification preferred.
• Prior experience with stage, lighting, sound or production equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work outdoors in hot and humid conditions, and follow safety protocols.
• Clear spoken and written English for interaction with guests, team members and vendors.

Required skills

• Operating mixing consoles and lighting consoles.
• Using outboard gear such as graphic and parametric equalizers, gates, compressors, limiters and effects units.
• Troubleshooting cable television and streaming audio systems.
• Setting up microphones, screens, speakers and other AV equipment.
