Range Systems Administrator

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Range Systems Administrator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Andros Island, Bahamas. The role ensures the real‑time test environment runs smoothly, handling configuration, quality assurance, server administration, and 24‑hour troubleshooting support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage configuration of real‑time and post‑test software environments, generate change documentation, and distribute builds.
• Create and maintain documentation for range systems and monitor the government configuration management database.
• Develop requirement specifications, write and execute test plans, log issues, and open tickets for developers.
• Patch, test, and back up systems quarterly; manage retention policies and coordinate with cyber‑security and vendor teams.
• Provide Windows, Active Directory, and Linux system administration, including SAN and virtualization troubleshooting.
• Support real‑time software users, act as first point of contact for issues, and provide on‑call support during range events.
• Perform administrative duties such as property control, safety inspections, and maintaining security logs and inventories.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer‑related field or six years equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of IT experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
