Audit Staff - Wealth & Asset Management (Bahamas)

About the role

EY's Financial Services Office (FSO) Wealth & Asset Management team in the Bahamas is looking for an experienced audit staff member. You will help clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and giving insight into accounting and reporting matters, working alongside a team of assurance professionals and directly with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Balance time between working with a team of assurance professionals across a portfolio of projects and engaging personally with clients
• Perform audit procedures while developing effective, client-focused audit strategies
• Build relationships that support tailored services and contribute to new business development
• Identify and react to potential risks and suggest improvements to products and processes
• Keep up with business trends and emerging technologies to act as a trusted business advisor

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a business discipline, supported by at least nine months of work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm
• An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification such as US or Canadian CPA; candidates still in the process of passing their exams will also be considered
• Ability to prioritize when managing multiple projects and to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ideally, knowledge of current market issues in the Wealth & Asset Management sector

Required skills

• Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Effective communication with clients and within the team
