Financial Controller – Public Sector Transformation

About the role

Scales and Associates is seeking an experienced CPA to join a transformative initiative within the Bahamas public sector. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in modernising financial operations, driving technology adoption, and ensuring robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial management and reporting for public sector entities.
• Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow processes.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and compliance frameworks.
• Drive finance transformation projects, including process improvement and adoption of modern accounting systems.
• Manage and develop finance teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with several years of experience in financial management.
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial reporting.
• Experience leading finance teams and implementing internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to drive finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
