Kitchen Steward

About the role

The Kitchen Steward at The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort in the Bahamas, is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. This position supports the culinary team by washing, storing, and organizing all kitchenware and ensuring the back‑of‑house areas remain spotless during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, silverware and other utensils according to established standards.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents for each item and keep storage racks, counters, walls and closets tidy.
• Sweep, mop and disinfect all floor areas in the kitchen, dining room and back‑of‑house spaces with prescribed chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain mobile and stationary equipment, including mats, ensuring they are clean and properly stored.
• Air‑dry items before storage, organize supply closets, rotate stock and store wares neatly.
• Remove trash to dumpsters, empty and clean containers and compactors, and keep the work area free of debris.
• Prepare the breakdown area for soiled wares and restock workstations for the next shift.
