Trading Operator – Latin America Crude Oil Desk

About the role

The Trading Operator supports the Latin America Crude Oil trading desk within Shell Trading & Supply. Working closely with traders and commercial managers, the role ensures oil and freight contracts are executed efficiently and adds commercial value through proactive problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all obligations from contracts and charter parties, identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Manage post‑deal activities with counterparties, terminals, vessels, agents and inspectors.
• Prepare oil and vessel nominations, issue voyage orders and monitor vessel progress.
• Enter operational data into trading systems (FED/DEX, RADAR) to maintain accurate positions and records.
• Assess commercial impact of cargo and demurrage claims and take protective actions.
• Coordinate with Finance Operations to ensure timely settlement of deals.
• Drive improvement programmes specific to Latin America operations.
