Business Plan Reviewer (Contract)

About the role

The Business Plan Reviewer at SBDC Bahamas conducts comprehensive reviews of business plans and Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation so that the information is accurate, complete, consistent and sufficiently supported for internal credit adjudication. The role gives constructive guidance to clients and Business Plan Writers, ensures plans meet the organization's review standards and minimum scoring requirements, and helps manage the review pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate business plans and KYC documentation for correctness, completeness, accuracy and consistency, and verify them against supporting documents.
• Identify discrepancies, omissions and inconsistencies and ensure they are addressed.
• Assess plans using the approved Business Plan Review Sheet and recommend no fewer than eight compliant plans per month for the Internal Credit Committee, each scoring at least 80.
• Give constructive, timely feedback to clients and writers, clearly communicating required amendments.
• Assign clients to Business Plan Writers, monitor their correspondence and follow up on outstanding tasks.
• Recommend additional support services such as SBDC University, BICA vouchers or Business Plan Writer vouchers.
• Conduct pitch preparation sessions for clients before Credit Committee presentations.
• Maintain the Business Plan Review Pipeline document and update it by the 15th of each month, keeping records of plans under review, pending revisions and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship or a related field; a professional qualification in a related discipline is an asset.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in business advisory, credit analysis, financial services, entrepreneurship support, business planning, accounting or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing business plans, financial information, credit applications or business documentation.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of business planning principles, financial statements and basic financial analysis.
• Knowledge of credit assessment and adjudication, and of KYC requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Pipeline management, record keeping and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
