About the role
The client, an independent Bahamian loss adjusting firm, seeks a senior Managing Director / Principal Adjuster to lead operations, set technical standards, and drive growth. This hands‑on executive role combines strategic leadership with direct handling of the firm’s most complex, high‑value assignments.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the firm’s strategic direction, business development, and client relationship management across insurers, brokers, and reinsurers in the Bahamas and Caribbean.
- Personally manage major, complex, and catastrophe‑related loss assignments covering property, liability, engineering, marine, and motor.
- Lead hurricane/CAT response: activate surge rosters, triage post‑storm inspections, and supervise field teams across Nassau and the Family Islands.
- Oversee report quality, reserving, settlement negotiations, and file governance.
- Manage the firm’s financial performance, fee structures, and operational compliance.
Required profile
- Licensed or eligible for licensing as an insurance adjuster in the Bahamas (support provided).
- Extensive property and casualty loss adjusting experience, with proven hurricane claims expertise (windstorm, flood, storm surge, BI, structural and contents losses).
- Professional designation such as CILA or ACII.
- Strong technical report writing, negotiation, and client‑facing communication skills.
- Background in construction, engineering, law, or finance is an advantage.
