Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer – Luxury Caribbean Resort

About the role

We are seeking a senior Facilities & Engineering leader to manage all engineering, maintenance and facilities functions for an exclusive luxury Caribbean resort. The position is titled Facilities Manager but is designed for a Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer with extensive resort experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the complete engineering and facilities operations of the property, including buildings, infrastructure, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, generators, water and wastewater systems, pools, landscaping, transportation, docks and marina facilities.
• Lead major infrastructure and engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to luxury‑standard quality.
• Develop and manage the annual budget, preventative maintenance programs, and vendor relationships.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the facilities team.

Required profile

• Current or previous experience as a Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer or Senior Facilities Manager in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Minimum 5 years of facilities/engineering management experience.
• Strong background in luxury hospitality environments; island or resort infrastructure experience highly desirable.
• Relevant technical qualification in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred.
