About the role

Our client, a prestigious 5‑star hotel in the Caribbean, is launching a new Italian restaurant and seeks a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen. The role combines authentic regional Italian cooking with innovative, creative menu development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations for a dinner‑only Italian restaurant.
• Develop and execute authentic Italian menus while incorporating innovative dishes.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budget targets.
• Collaborate with hotel management to ensure seamless service integration.

Required profile

• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in a hotel or upscale standalone restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and build high‑performing kitchen teams.
• Hands‑on, creative approach to cooking and menu design.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
• Island or resort experience preferred; experience opening a restaurant is essential.
