Tax Manager – Wealth & Asset Management (FSO)

About the role

EY’s Financial Services Office (FSO) is seeking a Tax Manager to lead the Wealth & Asset Management practice. The role involves delivering tax compliance and advisory services to hedge fund, private equity and mutual fund clients across multiple jurisdictions, supporting the firm’s global market perspective.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory engagements for asset‑management clients.
• Handle domestic federal, international, state and local tax issues, aligning strategies with client business objectives.
• Oversee tax compliance accounts for hedge funds and private‑equity funds, including preparation and sign‑off of K‑1s and partnership tax returns.
• Review securities analysis, apply appropriate tax adjustments, and address wash sales, constructive sales, straddles and other securities‑related issues.
• Analyze partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications such as book‑tax allocations, stuffing provisions, and management fees.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of tax accounts spread across various locations.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of asset‑management tax, including hedge fund and private‑equity fund taxation.
• Ability to analyse trading reports for tax character and book‑tax differences.
• Experience reviewing complex partnership agreements and private placement documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client engagements.
