Asset Analyst

About the role

The Asset Analyst supports the Asset Management Manager by analysing asset condition, maintenance, reliability, operational and geospatial data for Bahamas Grid Company’s transmission and distribution network, substations and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse geospatial and asset datasets to investigate network performance, reliability concerns and operational problems.
• Combine GIS records with inspections, work orders, equipment history and outage data to identify critical assets and emerging risks.
• Develop maps, analytical models, dashboards and visualisations that clearly explain findings and support decision‑making.
• Maintain and reconcile the asset register and CMMS/EAM records for all T&D asset classes, flagging missing or inaccurate records.
• Calculate and report reliability indices such as SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI and CEMI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in GIS analysis, utility asset analysis or a related discipline.
• Ability to work onsite, including field visits to substations and line routes, and to collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS software, spatial databases, geoprocessing and network analysis tools.
• Experience with IBM Maximo and OSIsoft/AVEVA PI System (or comparable platforms).
• Knowledge of CMMS/EAM data handling and preventive maintenance planning.
• Familiarity with reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI, CEMI) and their reporting methods.
