Asset Management Manager

About the role

The Asset Management Manager leads the development and implementation of Bahamas Grid Company’s asset management strategy for transmission and distribution infrastructure. Reporting to the VP of Engineering & Planning, the role oversees asset registers, maintenance planning, GIS strategy and reporting to improve reliability and support investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement asset management processes, registers and lifecycle practices for all utility assets.
• Manage GIS strategy, data governance, spatial analysis and coordinate updates with engineering and field teams.
• Lead condition assessments, preventive and condition‑based maintenance programmes, and integrate them with CMMS/EAM platforms.
• Oversee reliability reporting (SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI, CEMI) and use findings to prioritize maintenance and renewal actions.
• Supervise the GIS Technician and Asset Analyst, assigning work, reviewing deliverables and supporting professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Asset Management or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of utility asset management or infrastructure engineering experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, finance and project management functions.

Required skills

• Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and utility network mapping.
• Proficiency in CMMS/EAM systems, preferably IBM Maximo.
• Familiarity with OSIsoft/AVEVA PI System for operational data analysis.
• Knowledge of reliability indices (SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI, CEMI) and their application.
