Head of Accounting, Tax and Compliance

About the role

The Head of Accounting, Tax and Compliance leads the organization’s accounting, tax and financial control environment, ensuring accurate reporting, timely tax compliance and robust SOX controls. This senior position advises the CFO on policy, risk and audit matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting functions including general ledger, month‑end/year‑end close, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, fixed assets and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, filing, payments and coordination with external tax advisors.
• Maintain and enhance the SOX compliance framework, including documentation, testing, remediation and ongoing monitoring.
• Develop and implement accounting policies aligned with financial reporting standards.
• Identify process improvements, automation opportunities and drive efficiency gains.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 8‑10 years progressive experience in accounting, tax, audit or compliance, with 3‑5 years in a leadership role.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
• Expertise in tax compliance and legislation.
• In‑depth understanding of internal controls and SOX/ICFR requirements.
