Manager, People Operations

About the role

The Abaco Club, part of Southworth's portfolio of private clubs and communities in The Bahamas, is looking for a Manager, People Operations. The role supports the daily operations of the club's People Operations department and works closely with the Director, People Operations, to align strategies, practices and programs with the club's mission and vision. The manager leads initiatives across talent acquisition, team member development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of People Operations in developing and implementing People Operations strategies aligned with the club's mission and vision, and collaborate with senior management on priorities and objectives.
• Work with the corporate Talent Acquisition Manager to align recruitment policies with company policy, coordinate interviews, evaluate candidates and make hiring recommendations.
• Develop and implement training and development programs, provide coaching and mentoring, and support high-potential team members for leadership programs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and give feedback on team member growth and improvement.
• Foster positive team relations, help resolve concerns and grievances, and plan engagement activities.
• Assist with administering compensation and benefits programs and updating benefits portals.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, assist with audits, maintain confidential employee records and issue contracts to new hires.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in People Operations, HR or a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or country club setting.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws, team member relations, compensation and benefits administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to develop training and performance management programs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to handle sensitive information.
