Payroll Specialist

About the role

The Payroll Specialist supports accurate, timely, and compliant payroll administration for MSC Ocean Cay employees, working within HR Shared Services and ensuring all payroll‑related transactions follow company policies and Bahamian legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll, statutory contributions, employee deductions, benefits transactions, and maintain payroll records in line with Bahamian regulations.
• Assist the transition to a new Human Capital Management (HCM) platform, establishing efficient and scalable payroll processes.
• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Finance to maintain data integrity, reconcile payroll‑related accounts, and provide responsive support to employees and management.
• Ensure timely NIB and statutory remittances, strengthen payroll controls, and support accurate financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or professional diploma in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• 2–4+ years of hands‑on payroll or accounting experience, preferably within a Bahamian or Caribbean regulatory environment.
• Working knowledge of Bahamian payroll legislation, National Insurance Board (NIB) contributions, and the Employment Act.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee and compensation information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HCM/payroll systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using standard accounting software.
