Test Conductor - AUTEC Andros Island

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Test Conductor to support the AUTEC program on Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, providing deep and shallow water test and training environments. The Test Conductor is accountable to the Test Operations Manager and must hold an active Secret U.S. Government clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).

Key responsibilities

• Manage real-time operations of range tracking systems, vessels, helicopters and other assets, meeting test operation requirements efficiently.
• Review test operation documents such as operation directives, test plans, pre-test briefings and classified naval messages.
• Attend range safety briefs, pre-test briefs, planning and scheduling meetings.
• Oversee the Test Operations Real-Time Display Center (RTDC) and ensure stations are prepared and manned according to the Operations Directive and AUTEC schedule.
• Train prospective Test Conductors as assigned by the Lead Test Conductor.
• Support the Range Safety Watch Officer and take decisive action in their absence to prevent danger to personnel or damage to vessels and equipment.
• Maintain real-time logs and oversight documents such as deficiency, range utilization and weapons reports.
• Act as the point of contact between the contractor and the NUWC duty team and Range Users, and evaluate real-time problems and suggest alternatives.

Required profile

• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance and U.S. citizenship; ability to live in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid U.S. passport and driver's license.
• Preferred: BA/BS in Engineering, Science or Electronics, and five years of AUTEC range test experience or equivalent military/commercial technical experience.
• Ability to climb stairs, board range craft and aircraft, and perform close-up computer work.
• Preferred: knowledge of AUTEC capabilities, tracking/acoustic/communication systems, Navy vessel performance and anti-submarine tactics.

Required skills

• Phase I and II work-based learning and certification as a Test Conductor.
• Windows computer literacy and Microsoft Outlook.
• Exceptional written and oral English communication.
